This is a fantastic idea. I'm sure everyone was sickened to see how these plastics are destroying our oceans.

One person on their own can't do anything, but if schemes like this take off around the world, it can only be good.

Every Tenby business needs to look at what they're ordering and buys an alternative to throw-away plastic and their customers need to be asking why plastic is being used when an alternative exists.

How about the town sponsoring the production of re-usable coffee cups and water bottles? These would be a great souvenir for visitors.

Cafes could even offer a discount for anyone bringing their cup back for a refill.

Many of the large chain coffee retailers already sell a reusable cup at a good price and a discount everytime you use one.

My local independent coffee shop has a loyalty card scheme which gives me a stamp when I buy a coffee, and a free drink when I have 10 stamps on my card. If I bring my own cup, they give me two stamps, meaning that I get a free cup after buying 5 drinks. A great way to build loyalty and promote reusable cups!!!
